L2/L3 Protocol Test Engineer

Develop, execute, and automate feature test plans for Layer 2/Layer 3 networking protocols using Python PyTest and Robot Framework.

Design and enhance test automation frameworks, including automation libraries and algorithms, to improve test coverage and efficiency.

Utilize networking test equipment (e.g., Spirent, Ixia) for traffic generation, performance validation, issue troubleshooting, and handle critical customer escalations.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

1-3 years of relevant work experience in networking protocol testing or a related field.

In-depth knowledge of switches, routers, IP networking fundamentals, and specialization in Layer 2 and/or Layer 3 protocols and technologies.

Ability to work primarily onsite at an HPE office.

Experienced in hands-on development and automation of tests for complex Layer 2/3 networking protocols and network equipment.

Comfortable working independently within established frameworks with moderate supervision, providing analysis and recommendations based on test results.

Familiar with enterprise-grade networking test tools and able to manage customer escalations efficiently under pressure.
