Design, build, and evolve backend services in Java for core lodging reservations focusing on reliability, scalability, and performance in a high-revenue domain.
Lead migration of legacy monolithic systems and stored procedures to Spring Boot–based microservices, including API design, low-level design, and data modeling.
Own backend service components end-to-end in production, including deployment, monitoring, and incident resolution using AWS cloud and tools like Datadog and Splunk.
Minimum Requirements
6+ years of professional software development experience with strong focus on backend Java engineering in production.
Experience designing backend services including system and API design, and data modeling for RDBMS applications.
Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform, preferably AWS, including deployment and monitoring of backend services.
Experience owning and supporting backend components in production using monitoring/logging tools such as Datadog or Splunk.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Expertise in Java microservice development with frameworks like Spring Boot and experience modernizing legacy systems to microservices.
Strong RDBMS knowledge including advanced use of stored procedures, performance tuning, and database logic migration to services.
Experience operating large-scale business-critical backend systems in cloud environments with a focus on observability and operational excellence.
Familiarity with AI-driven tools and workflows integrated safely into backend development and operations to enhance productivity and system stability.
