Build and maintain backend services and platform capabilities within Expedia Group’s Payments domain, focusing on Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AWS.

Take ownership of backend services, delivering scalable solutions and integrating AI/ML-enabled tools to enhance engineering productivity and payment experiences across multiple lines of business.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in backend development.
Experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, AWS, distributed systems, service-to-service communication, and NoSQL databases (preferably DynamoDB).
Proficiency in coding, data structures and algorithms, low-level design, API design, and data modeling.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Has experience owning backend services or capabilities in a product-focused environment with systems operating at meaningful scale.
Demonstrates strong skills in distributed-system design, microservice architectures, gRPC, and DynamoDB, with ability to work across Java and Kotlin environments.
Brings operational excellence with data-informed improvements and hands-on experience applying AI-driven systems or workflows to improve software engineering and backend product delivery.
