Software Development Engineer 3

Design and develop high-volume, highly available backend services using Java, Spring Framework, and Kafka for Adobe’s enterprise integration platform.

Integrate AI technologies including LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agents to build intelligent features for automated monitoring, triage, root-cause analysis, remediation, and developer self-service.

Work on event-driven architectures and AI-powered automation to enhance reliability, scalability, and developer productivity across platform services.

5–7 years of experience in backend Java development with Java/Java EE and Spring Framework.

Proficiency in relational databases (SQL) and MongoDB with high-performance transactional query optimization using ORMs like JPA2 or Hibernate.

Hands-on experience integrating LLMs/AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Gemini) into Java services including prompt engineering and context management.

Familiarity with vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture for AI backend feature development.

Experienced in building scalable, multithreaded server-side applications with focus on performance and reliability in distributed, event-driven systems.

Skilled in AI/ML integration in backend services, especially with practical knowledge of AI infrastructure, prompt engineering, and responsible AI practices.

Able to work at the intersection of backend engineering and AI agent automation, contributing to innovation in enterprise integration platforms.
