Senior Staff Software Engineer (R14272)

Provide senior technical leadership across multiple engineering teams and business domains, guiding architecture and technical strategy for scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems.

Lead complex cross-functional technical initiatives from discovery through production operation, collaborating with Product, Data, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to align technical decisions with business outcomes.

Mentor senior engineers, influence technical standards and roadmaps, and lead modernization and reliability efforts for critical systems including backend services, APIs, and platform capabilities.

12+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Deep experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems with strong knowledge of system design, scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence.

Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Kotlin).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and relational and/or NoSQL databases.

Experienced technical leader who has influenced architecture and technical strategy across multiple teams and complex technical domains without relying on formal authority.

Strong backend and cloud architecture expertise, capable of driving long-term maintainable solutions that balance speed, quality, scalability, and cost.

Ability to handle ambiguous, high-impact problems and communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, while mentoring senior engineers and shaping engineering practices.
