Own and execute comprehensive test strategies for Fortanix's platform services including unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, and performance testing.
Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks primarily using Rust and optionally Python or TypeScript, integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
Analyze performance and resilience tests, investigate production incidents, close test coverage gaps, and mentor engineers on testing practices.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
At least 5 years of software engineering or test automation experience, with minimum 3 years as an SDET or similar role.
Strong programming skills in at least one systems/general-purpose language; Rust experience preferred, Go or C++ acceptable with willingness to learn Rust.
Experience testing microservices and distributed systems, hands-on with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), API and contract testing, and performance testing tools (e.g., k6, Locust, Gatling).
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in developing and maintaining automated testing frameworks for distributed microservices.
Comfortable debugging across service boundaries using logs, metrics, and traces, with knowledge of security testing and vulnerability verification.
Able to track and improve quality metrics, mentor team members, and implement test strategies in fast feedback CI/CD environments.
