Lead HIPAA and FedRAMP/NIST 800-53 compliance efforts by converting regulatory requirements into scoped engineering tasks with defined acceptance criteria.
Manage and track third-party audit evidence requests, coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet auditor timelines and produce compliance status reports.
Develop and automate compliance processes and controls testing to minimize manual work and support program expansion across clients and jurisdictions.
Minimum Requirements
6-15 years of overall IT experience.
Experience in security/privacy compliance, GRC, or compliance engineering supporting HIPAA and/or FedRAMP/NIST 800-53 programs.
Proven ability to translate compliance/regulatory language into scoped engineering backlog items using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
Hands-on experience supporting third-party audits (SOC 2, FedRAMP, HITRUST), including evidence collection and control mapping.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong understanding of HIPAA Security & Privacy Rules and NIST 800-53 control families relevant to access control, audit logging, and data protection.
Experience working with cloud environments such as AWS GovCloud and Azure Government, including IAM/RBAC and encryption controls.
Skilled in collaborating with security, privacy, legal, and engineering teams to operationalize compliance controls and audit evidence management.
