Lead and manage HIPAA and FedRAMP/NIST 800-53 compliance efforts by translating regulatory mandates into scoped engineering backlogs with acceptance criteria and ownership.
Coordinate third-party audit processes including intake, evidence tracking, control-to-evidence mapping, and meeting audit deadlines.
Develop and run test cases for controls, generate compliance status reports, and create automation to streamline audit workflows and expand the program.
Minimum Requirements
6-15 years of overall IT experience.
Experience in security/privacy compliance, GRC, or compliance engineering with HIPAA and/or FedRAMP/NIST 800-53 programs.
Knowledge of HIPAA Security & Privacy Rules and NIST 800-53 control families (AC, AU, SI, PM).
Proven ability to create actionable, estimable backlog items using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools and support third-party audits (SOC 2, FedRAMP, HITRUST).
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in compliance engineering operating at the intersection of security, privacy, legal, and engineering teams within regulated environments.
Skilled in managing technical compliance projects involving cloud environments like AWS GovCloud or Azure Government and controls including IAM/RBAC, encryption, audit logging, and data lifecycle.
Familiar with evidence-driven audit processes and automation scripting to optimize compliance workflows and support regulatory assessment engagements.
