Senior Technical Lead – Traffic

Lead architecture, development, and evolution of eBay’s traffic engineering platform including traffic management, load balancing, and caching infrastructure.

Drive technical strategy and decisions across multiple functional areas to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance distributed systems using C/C++ and Go.

Mentor engineers and lead cross-team initiatives to improve engineering effectiveness, operational excellence, and platform scalability in a Kubernetes/cloud-native environment.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

12+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in networking, traffic engineering, distributed systems, or cyber security.

Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Go, with experience building production-grade systems, plus strong experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.

Work Experience Required: 12+ years

Experienced technical leader capable of influencing architecture beyond a single team and handling cross-functional technical initiatives.

Expertise in low-level Linux networking, traffic management, system performance, and cloud-native patterns with focus on scalability, security, and reliability.

Skilled in mentoring and guiding engineers through complex trade-offs in a large-scale, globally distributed engineering environment.
