Database Operations Lead

Lead daily operations of business-critical databases across on-premises and public-cloud environments ensuring availability, stability, performance, and security.

Own operational governance including service reviews, incident management, risk tracking, and continuous improvement for database services supporting manufacturing and enterprise applications.

Coordinate and influence multiple internal and external teams to manage incidents, changes, upgrades, and performance diagnostics for diverse enterprise database platforms.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

10+ years of database administration, engineering, or operations experience with at least 3 years in technical lead or operational coordination role.

Hands-on experience with multiple enterprise databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) supporting 24x7 high-availability environments.

Experience with cloud database platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and scripting/automation tools (PowerShell, Python, shell scripting, SQL).

Experienced at leading operational governance and incident response for critical database environments, including coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors without direct management authority.

Strong technical proficiency in performance diagnostics, capacity planning, patching, upgrades, backups, and security across heterogeneous database platforms in hybrid-cloud settings.

Capable of driving process standardization via runbooks, dashboards, and metrics while managing risk and continuous operational improvements.
