Own and deliver a specific, complex merchandising data science problem end-to-end, from business question to a stable, improving production system.
Design and implement either automated decision engines or decision support tools tailored to merchandising challenges such as price elasticity estimation, seasonal demand forecasting, or constrained inventory flow.
Define success metrics, lead experimentation, and create reusable methods and documentation to ensure continuous improvement beyond personal involvement.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, IT or related field plus 4 years analytics experience OR Master's degree plus 2 years analytics experience OR 6 years analytics or related experience.
Demonstrated experience shipping production systems in merchandising, retail, or supply chain data science, especially in price elasticity estimation, forecasting, constrained planning, or assortment optimization.
Strong expertise in optimization methods (mathematical programming, heuristics, simulation) and applied machine learning/forecasting/causal inference.
Location requirement: Based in Bangalore office with flexibility for personal life management.

Experience solving very focused, high-impact merchandising or retail problems with measurable business improvement, not just generic domain expertise.
Ability to influence and elevate peers by establishing standards, mentoring, and producing reusable solutions rather than managing people directly.
Comfort and judgment applying hybrid statistical and optimization methods to either automate decisions or enable human decision makers effectively, and iterating through adoption and validation.
