Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs following enterprise standards, including REST, GraphQL, and event-driven patterns.
Implement and manage API gateways (primarily Kong) with associated policies, traffic management, and security mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and TLS.
Develop automated tests, maintain CI/CD pipelines, support API observability and incident response, and provide consumer support and documentation.
Minimum Requirements
5 to 8 years of professional experience in API or backend software engineering.
Proficiency in at least one backend language: Python, Node.js, TypeScript preferred; Java with Spring Boot also accepted.
Hands-on experience with API gateways or management platforms like Kong, Apigee, Azure API Management, or AWS API Gateway.
Strong contract-first API design skills using Open API/Swagger, including versioning and backward compatibility.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in operating API platforms across multi-cloud environments, comfortable with Kubernetes and GitOps workflows.
