Own architecture and technical strategy for eBay’s global traffic engineering platform covering traffic management, load balancing, connectivity, PoP/caching optimization, and security controls.
Lead design and execution of rate limiting and bot mitigation solutions across edge and service layers, partnering with Security.
Drive improvements in latency, availability, resilience, and security by influencing cross-team initiatives and establishing observability and operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements
15+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in networking/traffic engineering, distributed systems, or cybersecurity.
Proficiency in C/C++ and Go; experience building high-performance distributed systems; Java skills considered valuable.
Strong knowledge of Linux networking, Kubernetes at scale, and cloud-native infrastructure.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven cross-team technical leadership driving architecture and delivering large initiatives in complex distributed environments.
Expertise in secure, scalable, observable distributed platform design and production operation.
Experience with Kubernetes networking, service meshes, traffic security patterns (rate limiting, bot mitigation), and traffic optimization at internet scale.
