Partner with US-based Lead Data Engineer/Strategist to analyze and document client's existing systems landscape (CRM, ERP, MDM, legacy data).
Design and iterate foundational core data schema from scratch including entities, relationships, keys, normalization based on business needs and system understanding.
Lead schema validation via prototypes and direct AI coding agents; deliver finalized, well-documented data schema and migration approach to engineering teams.
Minimum Requirements
8+ years of data engineering experience, specifically including designing data models from scratch.
Hands-on experience with SQL and at least one modern data platform for prototyping/validating schemas.
Experience directing AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) as part of development process.
Strong data modeling fundamentals and experience investigating legacy or unfamiliar systems to map data flow and structure.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced working closely and iteratively with senior technical counterparts (e.g., Lead Data Engineer) rather than fixed specifications.
Background in engagements involving CRM, ERP, and MDM systems and integrating complex multi-source data environments.
Capable of producing clear, detailed documentation (ER diagrams, data dictionaries) usable by architects and engineers downstream.
