Own and ensure 99.9% uptime and disaster recovery targets (RTO 4 hours, RPO 1 hour) for production infrastructure on Linode/DigitalOcean with Cloudflare fronting.
Build and maintain robust backup systems (3-2-1 strategy) and CI/CD pipelines with zero downtime deployments for a MEAN-stack app.
Manage monitoring, security posture (Cloudflare WAF, access control, GDPR compliance), incident response, cloud costs, and thorough documentation for a small engineering team.
Minimum Requirements
4+ years experience managing live production infrastructure, personally accountable for at least one platform.
Proficient with Linux servers on Linode/DigitalOcean or similar, Cloudflare (DNS, caching, WAF), Docker, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or Ansible) preferred.
MongoDB production experience including replica sets, backups, restores, and migrations under load.
Experience deploying and operating Node.js applications in MEAN stack; security experience including hardening and secrets management.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Has hands-on ownership experience running production web app platforms with direct accountability for uptime and recovery.
Capable of managing infrastructure independently with strong focus on documentation and automation to enable a small team.
Demonstrates security-conscious operations aligned with UK GDPR or similar regulations, preferably with audit remediation experience.
