About This Role
- Lead the data engineering team in designing, developing, and maintaining data applications supporting Walmart's advertising and marketing platform.
- Architect and implement backend solutions, collaborate with product teams to translate requirements, and enable data scientists and business partners to leverage the data platform.
- Drive engineering and operational excellence, mentor junior developers, set coding standards, and monitor production to proactively resolve systemic issues.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with 3+ years software engineering experience OR 5+ years software engineering experience without degree.
- Experience with data-related programming languages and frameworks such as Spark, Hive, BigQuery, Java, Python.
- Experience with production and non-production environments on public/private cloud and solid Linux systems knowledge for troubleshooting complex distributed architectures.
- Work Experience Required: 6+ years in relevant field (as per description); Location: Bangalore/Chennai (daily office-based with flexible personal life management).

- Experienced leader comfortable managing medium to large projects and collaborating across global engineering and data science teams.
- Strong expertise in data engineering technologies and AI application within large scale, multi-billion dollar retail data platforms.
- Able to mentor and enforce best practices, implement scalable distributed systems, and possess robust debugging and problem-solving skills.
