Own and operate Illumina's Databricks Lakehouse platform focusing on reliability, scalability, security, automation, governance, and cost efficiency.
Design and build infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and reusable patterns while setting platform engineering standards and managing platform roadmap.
Mentor and develop platform engineering capability within a cross-skilled global team, enable AI-native platform capabilities, and manage platform security and compliance controls.
Minimum Requirements
3–5 years of professional data platform or data engineering experience including at least 2 years operating Databricks as an enterprise platform (administration, environment promotion, Unity Catalog).
Strong skills in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or equivalent), CI/CD (GitHub Actions or similar), Python, PySpark, and advanced SQL.
Experience with platform operations (monitoring, incident management), Databricks FinOps, platform security and compliance (identity, secrets, RBAC, audit logging, PII handling).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in operating enterprise-scale Databricks platforms, including security and FinOps, with strong AWS fundamentals (S3, IAM, VPC, KMS).
Skilled in automation and infrastructure engineering including IaC, CI/CD, and observability, with an ability to adopt AI-assisted engineering tools intelligently.
Able to work effectively with global stakeholders, mentor engineers, and contribute to architecture decisions in a regulated environment.
