Technical Lead

Lead architecture and development of enterprise Java applications within the eLIMS-Forensics programme, ensuring robustness, scalability, and compliance with forensic operational processes.

Provide technical guidance and support to distributed teams across UK, Europe, nearshore, and offshore locations, including capability development and knowledge sharing.

Own full lifecycle delivery including technical design, implementation, automation, modularisation of legacy systems, and maintaining production stability.

Extensive experience: 10+ years in enterprise Java development and DevOps practices.

Educational qualification: Bachelor's in Engineering or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent.

Mandatory technical skills: Java 11/17, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Eclipse RCP, SWT, JFace, WildFly Application Server, PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, Git, Azure DevOps, Docker, Maven/Eclipse Tycho.

Experience working in complex or regulated operational environments (such as Forensics, LIMS) is required.

Strong expertise in enterprise Java architecture and hands-on software development, particularly in regulated or complex operational settings.

Experienced in coordinating and collaborating across distributed multi-location teams including nearshore and offshore delivery centres.

Skilled in evolving legacy systems towards modular designs and integrating DevOps automation for build, deployment, and release pipelines.
