About This Role
- Lead architecture and development of enterprise Java applications within the eLIMS-Forensics programme, ensuring robustness, scalability, and compliance with forensic operational processes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to distributed teams across UK, Europe, nearshore, and offshore locations, including capability development and knowledge sharing.
- Own full lifecycle delivery including technical design, implementation, automation, modularisation of legacy systems, and maintaining production stability.
Minimum Requirements
- Extensive experience: 10+ years in enterprise Java development and DevOps practices.
- Educational qualification: Bachelor's in Engineering or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Mandatory technical skills: Java 11/17, Java EE/Jakarta EE, Eclipse RCP, SWT, JFace, WildFly Application Server, PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate, Git, Azure DevOps, Docker, Maven/Eclipse Tycho.
- Experience working in complex or regulated operational environments (such as Forensics, LIMS) is required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong expertise in enterprise Java architecture and hands-on software development, particularly in regulated or complex operational settings.
- Experienced in coordinating and collaborating across distributed multi-location teams including nearshore and offshore delivery centres.
- Skilled in evolving legacy systems towards modular designs and integrating DevOps automation for build, deployment, and release pipelines.
