Design, build, and own end-to-end backend payment services and APIs that handle high-volume, multi-currency transactions with strong operational reliability.
Lead production system ownership including monitoring, on-call incident response, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of system reliability and deployment practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally and mentor junior engineers, driving backend architecture, scalability, service reliability, and engineering best practices across the payments platform.
Minimum Requirements
6+ years professional experience in backend software development focused on Java in production environments.
Experience designing backend services including system design, API contracts, and RDBMS data modeling.
Practical experience with major cloud platforms (preferably AWS) for deploying and running scalable backend services.
Proven responsibility for production system ownership including use of monitoring and alerting tools such as Datadog or Splunk.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Senior backend engineer experienced with Java microservices and modernizing legacy systems into scalable service-oriented architectures.
Strong expertise in RDBMS beyond basic CRUD, including performance tuning and migrating database logic into application services.
