Lead and actively participate (~70% coding time) in software development projects for McKinsey’s Panorama Financial Institutions Center, focusing on enterprise product development and software design.
Oversee database design, middle-tier modules, performance tuning, and manage containerized/cloud-based applications using DevOps and continuous delivery principles.
Coach and mentor developers, driving engineering practice improvements and applying agile methodologies within financial services technology contexts.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
4+ years of software development experience specifically in financial services (banking/insurance) or fintech/insurtech sectors, focusing on enterprise systems with large-scale data processing.
Technical skills including proficiency in at least two of: Java, Python, Spark, Secure Coding, Microservices; frontend skills in Angular or React JS; experience with relational, NoSQL, and in-memory databases.
Cloud and containerization expertise with Azure, GCP, AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes; familiarity with Agile software development and performance optimization tools.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience working in financial services domains (banking, insurance) with strong understanding of underwriting, claims, risk, fraud, and customer journey technology transformations.
Proven capability in hands-on coding as well as strategic software design and architecture for complex enterprise systems.
Demonstrated ability to coach teams, improve engineering practices, and engage in continuous learning with emerging technologies like GenAI in finance.
