Python Microservices and Distributed Systems Lead - Vice President

Lead design, development, and delivery of a firm-wide central data processing platform and modern Data Workflow Framework replacing licensed software.

Provide hands-on Python development and architectural guidance to a team, collaborating with senior architects and delivery managers for state-of-the-art data pipeline solutions.

Manage technical execution, stakeholder communication, resource and budget planning, and drive innovation in distributed, event-driven, high-volume systems across multiple asset classes.

12+ years as a hands-on technical leader in complex real-time, distributed, high-volume event-processing systems.

5+ years experience developing large-scale, microservices-based architectures using modern Python frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django).

5+ years experience with messaging/event processing systems (e.g., Kafka, Tibco EMS) in a high-volume environment.

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

Experienced in full software lifecycle leadership including Agile delivery and Continuous Delivery culture in large organizations.

Skilled in Python data processing libraries (Pandas, Dask, NumPy) and workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Celery).

Capable of influencing technical architecture and managing cross-functional and global teams with strong communication at senior levels.
