About This Role
- Own the automated performance monitoring and benchmarking harness for autofill functionality, including regression detection and localization to specific commits.
- Design and maintain benchmark scenarios and instrumentation for measuring autofill experience impact, responsiveness, and predictability on complex web pages using browser performance APIs.
- Publish benchmark results, build alerting systems for regressions, maintain scenario libraries, and coordinate defect triage and release efforts with cross-functional teams.
Minimum Requirements
- 6-10 years of experience in Software Engineering in Test, test automation, or performance engineering roles.
- Proven experience designing and owning automated test harnesses and benchmarking infrastructure from the ground up.
- Strong TypeScript skills and experience with Playwright or equivalent automation frameworks and browser debugging protocols (e.g., Chrome DevTools Protocol).
- Working knowledge of browser rendering and performance APIs and experience with metrics collection, statistical modeling, and publishing to observability platforms such as Datadog.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in deep browser performance analysis and comfortable interpreting complex performance metrics and engine counters.
- Skilled in designing robust data schemas and statistical models for time-series/event data that require accurate correlation across independent signals.
- Has strategic experience owning benchmarking frameworks end-to-end and collaborating closely with engineering teams to maintain quality and coordinate releases in a fast-paced environment.
