Own the automated performance monitoring and benchmarking harness for autofill functionality, including regression detection and localization to specific commits.
Design and maintain benchmark scenarios and instrumentation for measuring autofill experience impact, responsiveness, and predictability on complex web pages using browser performance APIs.
Publish benchmark results, build alerting systems for regressions, maintain scenario libraries, and coordinate defect triage and release efforts with cross-functional teams.
Minimum Requirements
6-10 years of experience in Software Engineering in Test, test automation, or performance engineering roles.
Proven experience designing and owning automated test harnesses and benchmarking infrastructure from the ground up.
Strong TypeScript skills and experience with Playwright or equivalent automation frameworks and browser debugging protocols (e.g., Chrome DevTools Protocol).
Working knowledge of browser rendering and performance APIs and experience with metrics collection, statistical modeling, and publishing to observability platforms such as Datadog.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in deep browser performance analysis and comfortable interpreting complex performance metrics and engine counters.
Skilled in designing robust data schemas and statistical models for time-series/event data that require accurate correlation across independent signals.
Has strategic experience owning benchmarking frameworks end-to-end and collaborating closely with engineering teams to maintain quality and coordinate releases in a fast-paced environment.
