Lead Systems Operations Engineer

Lead complex, high-impact systems consultation and large-scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure within Systems Operations.

Manage and resolve escalated technical challenges, make decisions on technical changes and enhancements, and ensure operational stability in a 12x7 production environment supporting Wires application.

Coordinate with infrastructure, database, and development teams on major migrations, incident management, performance monitoring, and compliance to maintain high availability and system resilience.

5+ years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Experience with L3 Support and strong ITIL processes and troubleshooting skills.

Strong knowledge of Database, MQ, and middleware technologies; familiarity with Unix, Oracle, Autosys, Cron, Websphere, Apache, Tomcat, Kafka, MQ, Ansible, AIX is desired but not mandatory.

Experience supporting production environments with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Geneos, and Grafana; automation experience using shell/perl/Python and AI tools.

Experienced in end-to-end Wires lifecycle and financial/payment systems domain, including transaction flows and clearing house integrations (FED, CHIPS).

Capable of leading major system migrations and collaborating across cross-functional teams to ensure SLA adherence and continuous improvement.

Proficient in monitoring application health/performance, root cause analysis, incident management, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment support.
