Senior AI Backend Engineer

Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable Python backend services and REST APIs that support AI-driven financial products across trading, risk, and portfolio management.

Integrate backend applications with established AI platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, and AgentCore, focusing on LLM features like RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, and function calling.

Own end-to-end backend services including data modeling, CI/CD pipelines, observability implementation, and production issue resolution to ensure reliable operation in a regulated financial environment.

7+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of production-grade backend services.

Strong hands-on Python development skills; experience designing secure, scalable REST APIs and relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL).

Hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms; familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability tools.

Experience within Financial Services, fintech, capital markets, banking, or regulated environments; working knowledge of generative AI/LLM concepts and integration via AI platforms like Amazon Bedrock.

Demonstrated ability to build and operate AI-integrated backend services in complex, regulated financial services or fintech contexts.

Strong experience collaborating with US-based senior product and engineering teams, capable of translating business needs into reliable backend solutions.

Proficient in balancing backend engineering fundamentals with practical AI integration, ensuring reliability, performance tuning, and cost optimization in production environments.
