Define and lead architecture, standards, and long-term strategy for a scalable, secure service mesh platform (Istio or similar) across multi-cluster Kubernetes environments.
Own platform performance, reliability, scalability, SLOs/SLIs, and operational runbooks; lead incident response, root cause analysis, and platform evolution.
Mentor engineers, influence product roadmaps, and collaborate across platform, application, SRE, networking, and security teams to improve developer experience and platform reliability at scale.
Minimum Requirements
15–20 years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems and platforms.
Deep expertise in Kubernetes/container orchestration, including cluster architecture, networking, upgrades, multi-cluster, RBAC, controllers/operators.
Strong hands-on experience with service mesh technologies (Istio preferred), including traffic management, security (mTLS, identity, policy), gateways, and control plane operations.
Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field with 5 years of software engineering experience OR 7 years of software engineering experience without degree.

Senior-level engineer with deep technical leadership experience in service mesh and cloud-native networking technologies affecting large-scale distributed systems.
Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration among application, SRE, security, and networking teams to establish standards and roadmaps.
Experience in building platform automation, defining operational standards (observability, SLOs), and mentoring engineers in a fast-paced, scale-critical environment.
