Define and drive the long-term technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Big Data platforms at enterprise scale within Data Services.
Lead design and evolution of highly available, scalable, secure, and operationally efficient Big Data platforms supporting mission-critical workloads.
Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship, influence platform strategy, architectural decisions, and build sophisticated tooling to improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
Minimum Requirements
15+ years of software engineering experience, significant depth in Big Data technologies.
Strong programming skills in one or more of Java, Python, C++, Go.
Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hive, Airflow, Gluten, Velox, BigQuery, Trino, Druid, Pinot.
Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, CIS, software engineering or related field with 6 years experience OR 8 years of software engineering experience without degree.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Technical leader with deep expertise in Big Data processing frameworks and cloud-native distributed systems (GCP/Azure).
Experience defining technical strategy and driving architecture in complex, large-scale environments with mission-critical workloads.
Demonstrated ability to mentor senior engineers and influence cross-functional teams on platform strategy and operational excellence.
