About This Role
- Define and drive the long-term technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Big Data platforms at enterprise scale within Data Services.
- Lead design and evolution of highly available, scalable, secure, and operationally efficient Big Data platforms supporting mission-critical workloads.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship, influence platform strategy, architectural decisions, and build sophisticated tooling to improve reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
Minimum Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, significant depth in Big Data technologies.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of Java, Python, C++, Go.
- Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hive, Airflow, Gluten, Velox, BigQuery, Trino, Druid, Pinot.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, CIS, software engineering or related field with 6 years experience OR 8 years of software engineering experience without degree.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Technical leader with deep expertise in Big Data processing frameworks and cloud-native distributed systems (GCP/Azure).
- Experience defining technical strategy and driving architecture in complex, large-scale environments with mission-critical workloads.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor senior engineers and influence cross-functional teams on platform strategy and operational excellence.
