Develop and specify sub-system requirements for diesel electric, battery electric, and hybrid diesel-battery locomotives, focusing on electric drive train hardware integration.
Design, validate, and test traction and auxiliary control systems to manage power flow and optimize locomotive performance and reliability.
Collaborate across teams to solve control system issues and implement new control functions for product enhancements and NPI programs.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Power Electronics Engineering discipline.
Demonstrated project experience in control engineering developments.
Willingness and ability to support hardware-in-the-loop (HiTL) simulations and on-locomotive testing and validation.
Ability and willingness to travel as required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience with control systems design, validation, and integration for electric or hybrid propulsion systems, preferably in locomotive or transportation sectors.
Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop simulation tools and real-time control model auto-coding techniques.
Working knowledge of power electronics, rotating electric machines, battery energy management, and system-level validation testing.
