About This Role
- Own the design, development, deployment, and ongoing improvement of scalable, secure backend systems and enterprise-grade REST APIs using Node.js.
- Define and maintain backend architecture, including application structure, service boundaries, integration patterns, and API versioning/documentation.
- Ensure application and API security by implementing authentication, authorization, secure coding practices, and addressing OWASP Top 10 and API security risks.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, especially with production-grade enterprise backend systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST API development, and SQL/database design.
- Deep understanding of API authentication/authorization mechanisms and application/API security practices.
- Experience with secure coding principles and debugging/performance optimization in backend systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in architecting backend systems rather than just coding predefined tasks, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Demonstrates a strong security mindset, capable of identifying security issues during design and code review, and proficient with OWASP security concepts including JWT, OAuth 2.0, RBAC.
- Able to work across backend, database, API, and deployment layers and collaborate effectively with frontend developers using React.
