About This Role
- Own the modernization and customization of the Inventory Control System (ICS) implemented via JIRA for LIGO-India, including architecture upgrades, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
- Translate requirements from logistics and engineering teams into software features managing inventory tasks like parts locating, inspections, testing, assembly, and shipping.
- Ensure ICS system readiness for large-scale operations and improve documentation and maintainability; role includes travel to Livingston, Louisiana.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc./MCA/MCS or equivalent) in Physics, E&TC, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or related field.
- At least 2 years experience developing database-driven, web-based applications using Java with strong understanding of OOP concepts.
- Experience with JIRA development/configuration and SQL database administration including MySQL.
- Age limit: 35 years; travel to USA (Livingston, Louisiana) required.

- Experience in developing and modernizing software systems supporting scientific or engineering workflows.
- Ability to gather and translate requirements into software improvements and work closely with cross-functional teams (logistics and engineering).
- Comfortable working in complex, ambiguous environments and distributed teams with capabilities in Java, JIRA, SQL, Git, and Linux environments.
