About This Role
- Lead and grow a cross-functional engineering team focusing on Java backend and React frontend, ensuring delivery predictability and quality.
- Own and drive the platform's long-term technical vision and architecture, including reliability goals and secure-by-default practices.
- Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools to improve code quality, speed, and operational metrics while maintaining risk and security controls.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
- Strong expertise in Java 17+ fundamentals, concurrency, memory management, OOP, Spring Boot, and strong API design skills.
- Experience with high-performance, latency-sensitive Java applications and service architecture including Kubernetes for microservices deployment.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Product and Delivery teams, leading AI-assisted software development adoption, and owning mission-critical platform stability.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced leader capable of managing and mentoring a distributed, cross-functional engineering team incorporating Java backend and React frontend technologies.
- Proficient in driving architectural modernization and operational excellence for fintech or financial markets platforms, with knowledge of messaging protocols (e.g., FIX, Solace).
- Strong communicator comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a track record of applying AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly in secure environments.
