Backend QA Automation Engineer - API Testing, Data Quality & Monitoring (India, Chennai)

Build and own a comprehensive backend test-automation framework from scratch covering REST, gRPC, and WebSocket APIs across the entire service fleet with an initial focus on market-data surfaces.

Implement real-time market-data quality validation including detection of data feed drops, latency, gaps, accuracy issues, and cross-region consistency, replacing manual monitoring with automated metrics, dashboards, and alerting.

Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to gate backend releases, provide fast failure feedback, and systematically transform every detected incident into permanent automated checks to prevent recurrence.

5–8 years of experience in backend QA automation, SDET, or backend engineering with strong test ownership including building test frameworks or quality systems from scratch.

Proficient in Go programming language for developing and maintaining backend tools and test frameworks.

Strong expertise in API test automation for REST, WebSocket, and ideally gRPC with contract and integration testing experience.

Must be willing and able to work in-person full-time at the Chennai office.

Experienced in distributed systems with a strong debugging instinct for pipelines, queues, caches, and race conditions across services as applies to backend data flows.

Demonstrated ability to design and implement observability systems with metrics (e.g., Prometheus), dashboards, and actionable low-noise alerts trusted by engineering teams.

Capable of independently defining quality strategy in a lean, high-autonomy environment reporting directly to CTO, reflecting senior-level ownership and strategic impact.
