About This Role
- Own and manage the primary MySQL database environment including build, high availability (HA), replication configurations, performance optimization, backup and recovery, and integrity/security.
- Provide L3 level support for MySQL and secondary support for PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, tuning, clustering, backup/restore, and performance monitoring.
- Develop and optimize database designs and distributed fault-tolerant mechanisms; estimate capacity and implement monitoring for database usage.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years of experience primarily as a MySQL DBA.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields such as BSc, BE, BTech, MCA, MSc, MS, or MTech.
- Mandatory technical skills: MySQL administration, MySQL replication, backup/recovery, performance tuning, MySQL InnoDB cluster, Percona toolkit, and PostgreSQL.
- Certifications preferred: MySQL Administrator Certified; ITIL certification desirable.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in managing complex MySQL environments with strong hands-on skills in clustering, replication, and performance troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL administration and tuning, including replication and backup strategies, indicating multi-database management capability.
- Capable of working under pressure prioritizing tasks effectively in a team-oriented environment, with good communication skills.
