About This Role
- Design, develop, and optimize high-performance Layer 2 and Layer 3 forwarding features in IOS-XR platform targeting silicon-based NPUs.
- Implement and optimize data plane logic including QOS, Mirroring, OAM, EVPN, VPLS, SRv6, Segment Routing, MPLS, and associated forwarding protocols.
- Diagnose and resolve complex embedded software defects through debugging of logs, core dumps, and packet traces; enhance code quality using AI-assisted tools.
Minimum Requirements
- 6-10 years of embedded software development experience in networking products.
- Proficient in C/C++ for embedded systems and Python for scripting and automation.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with carrier-grade networking OS and forwarding architectures; working knowledge of NPU data plane architectures and debugging embedded software.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in developing and optimizing forwarding protocols and features specifically for service provider network environments.
- Comfortable working at the intersection of hardware/software, with ability to translate network protocol requirements into efficient NPU microcode.
- Familiar with modern SDLC practices including CI/CD and utilizing AI/ML tools to improve code quality and productivity.
