About This Role
- Design and develop an agent development SDK and language bridge to enhance developer experience for AI platform teams, impacting engineering velocity.
- Create and maintain developer tooling, shared infrastructure components, and API contracts to support multiple product teams at Starburst.
- Own platform health metrics including performance, reliability, and developer ergonomics beyond just feature delivery.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling.
- Proficiency in both Python and JVM languages (Java or Kotlin).
- Experience with distributed systems fundamentals: RPC, serialization, error handling, observability.
- Ability to travel up to 25% for onboarding, offsites, and customer engagements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience designing and implementing SDKs/APIs used across multiple engineering teams to improve velocity.
- Knowledge of containerization, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with cross-language interoperability methods (gRPC, FFI) and integrating AI models or LLMs in production systems.
