About This Role
- Participate in architectural sessions to assist development teams with database schema design and indexing strategies for performance and scalability.
- Lead maintenance of Postgres and MongoDB databases in a highly available AWS environment, including backups, replication, disaster recovery, and patch management.
- Automate database and server maintenance activities and research/apply new technologies and best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience including 2+ years working on AWS.
- B.Tech degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and scripting (bash/shell); proficiency in Python/Ruby/LUA is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Chef, Puppet, or Ansible and demonstrated expertise in source code management, rolling deployment, and managing large-scale multi-AZ high-availability services.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in managing large-scale, high-availability AWS deployments with strong performance diagnostic skills.
- Capable of working directly on database schema and architecture considerations in collaboration with development teams.
- Familiarity with microservices deployment and management tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform is advantageous but not mandatory.
