About This Role
- Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines in GCP using Cloud Composer and PySpark on Dataproc.
- Optimize BigQuery performance using Partitioning, Clustering, and Materialized Views and assist in implementing BigLake components for unified data governance.
- Manage code and infrastructure deployment with Terraform and CircleCI, and implement logging, alerting, and data quality checks to ensure reliable data operations.
Minimum Requirements
- 2-4 years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in GCP services: BigQuery, DataForm, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Dataproc.
- Proficient in Python and SQL with experience in modular, testable coding.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CircleCI).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced mid-level Data Engineer capable of ownership from development to monitoring of data pipelines in GCP.
- Familiar with data modeling concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake) and data operations suggesting strong architectural understanding.
- Prior exposure to News or Media industry is a plus, indicating domain knowledge relevant to role.
