About This Role
- Develop and maintain full Android streaming stack including Input, Networking, Video Rendering, UI, and App Packaging targeting ultra low latency and high performance.
- Define and execute performance benchmarking and continuous software tuning across networking, CPU, GPU, and input using Android tools and AOSP internals.
- Own feature lifecycle end-to-end: from scoping, writing technical design, milestone tracking, to managing cross-team dependencies and risk mitigation.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years in systems software development with deep knowledge of Android core concepts (Activity, Fragment, Service, JNI).
- Experience with Android graphics and video playback pipelines including MediaCodec, EGL, Vulkan, and use of Android profiling/debugging tools (Dumpsys, Traceview, GPU inspector).
- Proficient in Java and C/C++, familiarity with Android build systems (Gradle, Jenkins, AAB), and test infrastructure (instrumentation, UI automation, unit testing).
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced Android systems engineer with comprehensive skills in low-latency video streaming technology and multimedia implementations within AOSP.
- Operator with ability to independently drive complex, long-lived projects in a large codebase with cross-team coordination.
- Comfortable analyzing performance data with visualization tools (Kibana) and managing projects using tools like Jira, Confluence, Perforce, and Git.
