About This Role
- Own and drive major technical initiatives for eBay's distributed database platforms, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Implement and maintain critical distributed database components, addressing scalability, availability, performance, consistency, and operational efficiency challenges.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship within the Bengaluru team, liaising with global teams and NuData customers to align platform solutions with customer needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years experience, or PhD with equivalent experience in large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed databases or data infrastructure with demonstrated ownership of complex systems.
- Expertise in distributed systems concepts including consensus (RAFT/PAXOS), replication, consistency, fault tolerance, high availability, and geo-distributed systems.
- Proficient in advanced programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or Scala with experience in production-quality software development and debugging.
