About This Role
- Design and implement major components of a microservices-based lending origination, servicing, and reporting system on AWS.
- Lead design and development of new software products and enhancements, collaborate closely with engineering, product, data science teams, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor and lead junior engineers, review code, and leverage generative AI tools and LLMs to improve development and build innovative features.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production Python services with end-to-end ownership (deployment, monitoring, incident management).
- 5+ years designing and consuming REST APIs in a microservices architecture with clear understanding of service boundaries and versioning.
- Hands-on AWS experience including containerized compute (ECS/EKS or Lambda), messaging (SQS/SNS), S3, and observability tools (CloudWatch or equivalent).
- Relational data modeling and query tuning in MySQL and practical experience with DynamoDB access-pattern design.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience leading multi-engineer development efforts including design authoring and code review.
- Familiarity with event-driven and asynchronous architectures, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy ORM, Docker, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Background in financial services applications and knowledge of security practices for web applications; experienced with React or other modern frontend frameworks and building with LLMs and generative AI.
