Own the end-to-end migration of multiple on-premise Java Spring Boot applications and Apache Kafka workloads to AWS, including discovery, re-platforming, cutover, and stabilization phases.
Partner with application and platform teams to ensure zero data loss, clean observability, cost-efficiency, and operational readiness post-migration.
Manage technical aspects such as Kafka topic design, re-platforming to AWS managed services, JVM performance tuning, and cloud infrastructure automation using IaC tools.
Minimum Requirements
8+ years developing production-grade backend applications in Java.
5+ years hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Apache Kafka production deployments.
3+ years hands-on experience delivering production workloads on AWS, including migration of applications and Kafka workloads.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experienced in enterprise-scale cloud migration projects involving Spring Boot applications and Apache Kafka to AWS with strong operational ownership.
Deep knowledge of modern Java (Java 17/21) features, Spring Boot 3 / Spring Framework 6, and Kafka replication and migration strategies.
Proficient with AWS cloud native services (EKS, ECS/Fargate, MSK, IAM, VPC, etc.), Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform), containerization, and CI/CD pipelines for scalable cloud applications.
