Tier-1 HPE brand and Bangalore metro raise competition, though SONiC specialization narrows applicant pool.
Deep SONiC, SAI, ASIC, and L2/L3 networking expertise makes cross-industry transfers difficult.
Explicit 10-year requirement plus specialized SONiC, SAI, and Python automation skills make shortlisting highly strict.
Design, develop, and execute test plans to validate SONiC NOS functionality on Broadcom-based switches, focusing on advanced L2/L3 networking features (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN).
Automate functional, regression, scale, and performance tests using Python and Robot Framework; perform deep debugging across ASIC, NOS, and control/data plane layers.
Contribute to the SONiC open-source community, validate optical modules and transceiver protocols, and manage integration of ASIC drivers and SAI (Switch Abstraction Interface).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in network software or hardware testing.
Hands-on experience with SONiC NOS, SAI-based architectures, and strong understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols and switch/router architecture.
Proficiency in Python and experience with automation frameworks such as Robot Framework; onsite work location requirement at an HPE office.
Experienced in working with Broadcom-based switching platforms and deep networking protocols including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, QinQ, multicast.
Familiar with SONiC architecture components such as SAI, FRR, Redis DB, Docker, Minigraph, and SDKs like SDKLT or OpenNSL; experience with traffic generators like Spirent or IxNetwork is a plus.
Skilled in automation and debugging in lab-based testbed environments, with history of contributing to SONiC or other open-source networking projects; able to work in a technically complex and collaborative environment.
