Mid-level metro role with notable investors but niche video expertise reduces applicant density.
Highly specialized media, codec, multi-camera, and robotics-adjacent skills make background fit narrow.
Explicit 5+ years, mandatory media frameworks, codecs, and production ops make hiring filters strict.
Own the end-to-end video data pipeline from raw multi-camera capture to training-ready datasets, including ingest, transcoding, time-synchronization, quality checks, indexing, and delivery to robotics labs.
Design and build resilient, cost-efficient, and observable media processing pipelines that handle large scale, multi-camera video and telemetry data from real-world environments.
Measure and improve key metrics such as pipeline throughput, latency, dataset yield, reliability, incident recovery, and operational costs while participating in on-call rotation for production issue resolution.
5+ years building and operating production video or media processing systems at scale.
Hands-on experience with FFmpeg, GStreamer, or equivalent media frameworks including pipeline debugging under load.
Strong knowledge of codecs (H.264/HEVC/AV1), containers (MP4/fMP4), distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, object storage, and durable workflow orchestration tools.
Work Experience Required: 5+ years in relevant media and distributed systems engineering.
Experienced in designing robust, large-scale media ingestion and processing pipelines for multi-camera or multi-view synchronized captures.
Skilled in balancing technical tradeoffs between cost, performance, and reliability in cloud-native environments handling petabytes of media data.
Comfortable owning complex end-to-end technical projects, providing production support, and working closely with field data collection teams to solve real problems.
