Metro location and mid-level Software Engineer title increase competition, but specialized distributed-systems skills moderate density.
Strong distributed-systems and consensus tooling bias reduces cross-industry transferability.
Explicit 3-8 years plus many mandatory distributed-systems technologies increases shortlisting strictness.
Develop and maintain the core Load Distribution engine using Finite State Machines (FSM), implementing Weighted Average Score algorithms and hysteresis for dynamic homing.
Architect and build high-throughput API and messaging systems using gRPC and RabbitMQ to handle metrics ingestion and event-driven communication.
Ensure scalable distributed system design supporting 3,000+ assignments per second, including consensus mechanisms with Consul Raft and caching/data recovery via Apache Ignite/GridGain.
3-8 years of hands-on experience in Golang (preferred) and proficiency in C, C++, or Java.
Strong fundamentals in computer science, including data structures and algorithms.
Experience with distributed systems concepts including multi-threading, concurrency, FSM, and consensus protocols (Consul Raft).
Proficiency with networking/messaging protocols like gRPC, Protobuf v3, RabbitMQ and familiarity with distributed databases (Apache Ignite, GridGain) and caching solutions (PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch).
Experience designing and implementing scalable distributed systems with active-active deployment architecture.
Hands-on expertise in messaging systems and distributed consensus algorithms enabling consistency and fault tolerance.
Background in developing high-throughput, concurrent systems with strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and systems programming.
