Niche robotics/UAV systems skills and seniority reduce qualified applicant density despite metro location.
Highly domain-specific robotics and avionics experience required, limiting cross-industry transferability.
Strict degree/experience bands and specialized robotics, embedded, and sensor-fusion requirements.
Lead system architecture, integration, verification, and field acceptance of advanced autonomous flight systems, ensuring coherent and deployable robotic system products.
Own system requirements, interfaces, integration strategy, baseline configurations, system-level verification, and deployment including field testing and failure investigations.
Coordinate cross-functional teams in Navigation, Sensor Fusion, GNC, Vision, Radar, Avionics, Cybersecurity, and RF/EMI-EMC, mentoring systems engineers and communicating technical risks and status to management.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Robotics/Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics, Engineering Design, or Aerospace Engineering.
6+ years (Bachelor’s) or 5+ years (Master’s) or 1+ years (PhD) industrial experience in systems engineering and integration related to aerospace, UAVs, robotics, or complex embedded products.
Demonstrated ownership of full system or major subsystem from requirements to field validation with expertise in requirements engineering, interface management, verification, and risk management.
Experience with vision-aided navigation, radar-aided navigation, GNSS-Denied PNT, or RF localization plus hands-on skills with industrial sensors (cameras, IMU/INS, LiDAR), embedded systems, and robotics software platforms (ArduPilot/PX4, ROS/ROS2).
Experienced in multi-disciplinary, cross-functional collaboration within aerospace or robotics product environments with system-level ownership.
Strong technical decision-making skills demonstrated through debugging, root cause analysis, and system integration in complex embedded or autonomous systems.
Comfortable leading verification, integration, and field testing of robotics or UAV systems, mentoring engineers and managing stakeholder communications within fast-paced or startup-like environments.
