About This Role

Design and develop scalable backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies for PayPal's Sales Technologies solutions.

Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and experience with enterprise Java application development; hands-on experience with microservices architecture is required.

Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or comparable), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools such as Harness.

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ, and automated testing frameworks; willingness to use AI-assisted development tools.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experienced senior software engineer with 7+ years in enterprise-scale Java backend and microservices development, demonstrating ownership across the SDLC.

Comfortable operating independently making technical decisions aligned with best practices and internal standards while mentoring junior engineers.

Familiar with modern cloud-native development practices including API-first design, container orchestration, distributed caching, messaging platforms, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
