About This Role
- Lead architectural design and development of eBay's Hadoop infrastructure, including HDFS, Spark, YARN/Yunikorn, and advanced data formats like Iceberg/Hudi.
- Drive end-to-end execution of complex data processing pipelines and platform frameworks to optimize resource utilization and performance at petabyte scale.
- Develop and deliver internal and customer-facing tools to enhance data access, governance, and cluster management across distributed systems.
Minimum Requirements
- 15+ years of software design and distributed systems development experience with large-scale cluster architectures.
- Expert proficiency in Java and/or Scala, with strong understanding of algorithms, concurrency models, and data structures for distributed computing.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux/Unix internals, network topologies, and distributed computing principles.
- Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem components (Hadoop, Spark, Apache Iceberg, Apache Yunikorn); open-source community engagement preferred.
