About This Role
- Own and drive the backend architecture, API design, reliability, and long-term technical direction of the company's AI-powered supply chain automation platform.
- Lead backend service operations including observability, alerting, on-call readiness, and early regression detection to maintain high system reliability.
- Design, build, and maintain durable workflows using Temporal or equivalent workflow engines with robust failure handling, versioning, and operational visibility.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years experience building and operating production backend systems in Python with end-to-end ownership, not just feature delivery.
- Strong expertise in Python, including knowledge of async vs sync, framework choices, and performance tradeoffs.
- Experience with Temporal or comparable durable workflow engines in production environments.
- Demonstrated reliability focus including idempotency, retries, observability, and operational readiness.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced backend engineer with ownership mindset who can maintain a holistic view of the system and proactively improve it before issues arise.
- Proficient in complex workflow engineering and durable execution patterns, able to innovate to deliver 10x improvement in underinvested areas such as workflow systems or AI-native backend.
- Comfortable making and documenting foundational technical decisions with conviction, and evolving them thoughtfully as system complexity grows.
