About This Role
- Handle escalations related to self-managed Kubernetes platforms and associated open source components such as Rancher RKE2, Harbor, GitLab Runner, MetalLB, and OpenSearch.
- Conduct platform health reviews and upgrade planning, including producing prioritized findings and remediation steps with severity assessments.
- Deliver knowledge sharing by training client teams, running advisory sessions, and improving client capability to reduce escalation volume.
Minimum Requirements
- 6+ years in platform or infrastructure engineering with 3+ years running Kubernetes in production.
- Operational experience specifically with self-managed Kubernetes on bare metal or private infrastructure and Rancher or RKE2 lifecycle and upgrades.
- Hands-on experience with at least three of these open source components: Harbor, GitLab Runner, MetalLB, OpenSearch.
- Strong Linux, networking, and storage fundamentals including diagnostic skills from logs, metrics, and network captures.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in diagnosing and resolving complex Kubernetes control plane and platform component issues using indirect evidence rather than direct console access.
- Skilled in upgrade planning, platform health assessments, and communicating findings clearly to clients without editorial support.
- Familiar with advisory or consulting environments, with experience imparting practical knowledge and building client operational maturity.
