System Software Engineer –L2/L3 Packet Forwarding

Design and develop high-performance software for Aruba's enterprise WLAN Controller platforms focusing on forwarding plane/datapath infrastructure for scale, reliability, and performance.

Work across Linux systems, embedded software, networking protocols, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems to debug and optimize complex networking, performance, and scalability issues.

Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to influence and shape future enterprise networking solutions deploying on-prem appliances, virtualized environments, and public cloud platforms.

3-8 years of experience in Systems, Networking, Embedded, Infrastructure, or Cloud software development.

Strong expertise in C/C++ programming, Linux Systems Programming, Socket Programming, Multithreading & Concurrency, IPC, Shared Memory, Synchronization, System Calls & Debugging.

Solid understanding of TCP/IP Networking Fundamentals, Routing, Switching & Network Protocols, Performance Analysis & Troubleshooting.

Role is onsite, primarily requiring work from an HPE office in India.

Experienced in forwarding plane/datapath development, WLAN technologies & controllers, Linux kernel & driver development, or network acceleration technologies to directly contribute to datapath performance and reliability.

Comfortable working with virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware), containers, cloud-native networking, and multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) aligning with hybrid cloud infrastructures.

Able to handle debugging and optimization of scalable distributed systems and integrate with cloud infrastructure with exposure to languages like Python, Go, or Java and CI/CD practices.
