Strong employer brand but specialized senior security role reduces applicant density.
Role requires specialized product/PSIRT experience and exploit analysis, so cross-industry transferability is low.
Explicit senior years plus deep security, code-audit, exploit, and CVE experience make hiring filters strict.
Lead technical investigations and coordinate resolution of significant product security vulnerabilities across engineering, product, and release teams.
Drive the entire vulnerability response process including CVE assignment, advisory publication, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of incident response and secure development practices.
Manage fixes through product development and release pipelines to minimize exposure window and ensure completeness of mitigations before release.
Minimum 8 years related experience with Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with Master's; or PhD with 3 years; or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4 years auditing source code for security vulnerabilities.
Proficient reading Java and JavaScript code, understanding their common vulnerabilities, and scripting in Python and JavaScript for data tasks.
Demonstrated leadership in major security incidents including willingness to participate in on-call; experience leading fix implementation and release coordination across teams.
Experienced in product security incident response or PSIRT roles for major software or SaaS platforms with recognized technical authority.
Skilled in deep-dive root cause analysis and exploit development to accurately assess real risk versus theoretical issues.
Able to operate effectively across product development cycles and cross-functional teams to drive security fixes under incident pressure.
